I needed the inflated sense of self-worth that comes with finding that significant other. I longed for the satisfaction of knowing that a complete stranger had entered my life, and deemed me worthy of their adoration. I needed to hear that I was perfect the way I was – that there was no need to push, punish and hate myself as much as I did, because I was already loved.

I needed validation.
I needed companionship.

But he just needed to harness his lie.

I guess ultimately, we used each other for the same reasons. We both wanted to feel normal. Accepted. Loved.

You all realize these people are just joking around, right? When New York legalized gay marriage the same thing happened with Glee and a few other shows. It’s not like they only care about fictional characters, they’re just celebrating with a fandom and messing around. This isn’t hurting anyone or making anyone feel inferior besides you. Not everything needs to be taken as an insult. And another thing: Would you really hate an entire fanbase because a few giggly girls were joking around with each other on Twitter? There are plenty of us out there who aren’t like that, and even those of us who are still respect that this is a really big step forward for LGBT and gay rights. You sit here and shit on the Sherlock fandom because a few of us decide to post silly little tweets about legalizing gay marriage? They’re just as happy as you are! Even if it’s not for the same reason, it doesn’t mean they’re being disrespectful and conceited! If we lived in a time where interracial marriage was just legalized and I said that I was happy because now the Mercedes and Sam could get married, would you hate me? They’re happy for everyone! Can’t you see that? They want this to happen! They’re just expressing it by making a joke about one of the oldest gay slash pairings in history. They’re not trying to hurt or disrespect anybody, and you all are the only people who have chosen to take this in such an offensive way. I for one love the Sherlock fandom and the brilliant things it has done, such as encourage gay relationships. Maybe it’s time you did, too.

Completely agree with the above comment. Hell, I don’t even like Sherlock but come on. This shitstorm that’s resulted from a few harmless tweets is entirely unnecessary, and these people certainly haven’t done anything to warrant them being “named and shamed”. Christ alive.

It was such a big deal for me when this video came out.

ME TOO OMG. I stayed up til 3AM to watch it on a local music network. Then I taped it and watched it every day for a solid month.

I watched it on Youtube over and over, I thought it was just the best thing ever.
Especially considering the horrible disappointment and disgust over the Build God video. I felt like this picked up the pieces left by Panic!.

Oh LAWD I’d forgotten that there was ever a video for Build God - I had to look it up on Youtube, and immediately shut the tab as soon as I saw the thumbnail. That video was so bad I’d repressed the memory of it.

You have no idea how guilty I feel now knowing you managed to wipe the memory of pornomime only to have me resurface it. D:
